Roffey FC are pleased to confirm that the club will be entering into a ground share agreement with Horsham FC as part of the club’s ongoing development and long-term growth strategy.
“Horsham FC have offered us a great solution”
This strategic decision has been made to ensure greater consistency and reliability for First Team fixtures, while also allowing more access to pitches at our Bartholomew Way ground for the club’s other teams across Saturdays, Sundays and evenings.
The agreement, built on cooperation between the two clubs, will help Roffey FC adapt to the rising standards of non-league football, while also helping the club develop an enhanced following and presence within the local football community as we move towards our new ground in the coming years.
Chairman Phil Gibbs said: “Taking the First Team away from our beloved ground for next season has not been an easy decision, but this season we have been hampered more than I can remember by the amount of rain landing on an already high water table. We have been forced to postpone so many matches, which has been very frustrating despite the best efforts of our fantastic pitch team.
“We need to be able to provide a consistent and reliable playing surface for the Boars as we push hard for step 4, and also give our other teams a better experience. Horsham FC have offered us a good solution.”
Roffey FC would like to place on record its thanks to Horsham FC for their cooperation and support, and we look forward to developing a strong working partnership between the two clubs over the coming seasons.
